May 11th Night Walk

We did a night walk with eight adventurers and it was great! There was plenty of night life happening, all around us. We saw a juvenile barred owl, an alligator, a raccoon, an Eastern cottontail rabbit, frogs, toads, wolf spiders, orb weaver spiders, more spiders, cockroaches, ants, june bugs, anoles, millipedes, and scorpions.

One interesting thing we noticed was several orb weaver spiders using leaves as weights on their webs (picture of one below). And we heard several kinds of frogs. Green tree frogs took center stage, with pig frogs grunting all around, and chirping cricket frogs. The raccoon was up in the crook of an oak a tree, looking very sleepy.
